The Jistory of jot products

jot products (JOT pronounced "hot") started in 1990. The founder, Doug Conklin, once owned a Mexican restaurant in Van Nuys, California. It was there that he learned how to make great salsa from the Mexican cooks.

Since Doug's salsa was so popular in California he decided he would continue making it after moving to the Northwest, but he wanted to do something different. There were lots of salsas on the market. In 1992 salsa surpassed ketchup in popularity. Doug wanted to see if he could duplicate his restaurant salsa in dry form. He knew it would taste fresher than either canned or bottled salsas. Well, it worked! Doug formulated a dry blend that contained all the ingredients that he used in his fresh salsa, except tomatoes. So, when you mix his jot products DRY SALSA MIX with tomatoes, either canned or fresh, you end up with a salsa that tastes like you made it from scratch, especially if you add some fresh cilantro.
